Vintage handcrafted bronze bell covered with floral decoration, including dangling rose garlands along the top. Features an 1818 commemorative date and raised “MEXICO” text. Unique crown style hanger top. Luscious verdigris patina showing mottled golden brown, charcoal black and various turquoises. 19” length of aged leather with wooden bead attached to clapper for ringing.

• 15 inches tall (not including dangling clapper)
• 13 1/4 inch diameter
• 36 lbs.

I believe this to be one of the largest Spanish Colonial style bells ever made by the Mexican foundry I specialize in. It’s the largest (height and diameter) I’ve ever seen in 20 years of collecting and researching these bells.
